Farmer's Market

The local food movement is taking hold in Houston, as evidenced by the growing number of farmers' markets across the city. On any given day, Houstonians can shop for fruits and vegetables grown by area farmers, for local eggs, cheese, honey and more. Many of the markets offer special events like cooking demonstrations and classes, gardening classes and children's activities. There's even a weekly farmers' market in front of Houston's City Hall that operates most of the year and features prepared foods for the downtown workforce.
