
The area is loosely bound to the area just north of Interstate 10 and Westheimer Road to the south, and extends from Kirkwood Road to the east and Fry Road to the West. The area is defined by many oil industry related companies including large corporations, such as ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips and Shell Oil Company. Over 26,000 acres of urban park area can be found in the Energy Corridor, the largest outside the National Park System. Terry Hershey Park, George Bush Park and Bear Creek Park are just to name a few. The Energy Corridor has a strong multi-national influence, as many local businesses relocate expatriates from around the globe to work in their Houston offices. It is not uncommon to hear several different languages and dialects from around the world as you are sipping coffee at the local Starbucks.
